SASCON (P) Limited was founded in
1981 and is lead by Bibek K Roy, Chairman and Subhendu K Basu, Managing
Director. It is one of Kolkata’s oldest software companies. Roy is an
alumnus of St. Xavier’s School, Calcutta and holds a bachelor’s degree
in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University. Basu is a Physics
graduate and M. Tech. in Electronics from the University College of
Science, Calcutta University. Prior to starting SASCON, Roy was the head
of EDP at Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Marketing Division, Eastern
Region. Basu was a Customer Engineer with Hindustan Computers Ltd.
Sascon provides business applications developed on Open Source (PHP,
MySQL), Oracle (D2K, VB) and Object Oriented PHP. Financial Accounting,
Inventory Control, HRM and CRM are some of the functional areas where
the company is strong in terms of domain knowledge and implementation
experience. Sascon’s latest offering is an Internet enabled Enterprise
Management Solution on PHP with Oracle or MySql backend for the
Chemicals and Fabrication/Assembly industries.
The company uses an ISO 9001:2000 certified Quality Management System.

Sascon is a debt free company with 93% of the equity owned by its whole
time employees. .
